Situato sulla catena delle prealpi bresciane nel territorio del comune di Casto a quota 1270 mt slm, il “Rifugio Nasego” prende il nome dal monte su cui è posto. Alcuni amici con la passione per la montagna, volevano avere un punto di riferimento per la zona del “Savallo”, così nacque l’idea del rifugio.
Nel Gennaio 1992 iniziarono i lavori di costruzione con la partecipazione di un folto gruppo di persone che grazie al loro entusiasmo ed impegno si davano appuntamento per i lavori di manodopera. L’opera fu realizzata anche con il contributo del comune di Casto e numerose aziende locali. Nell’agosto del 1994 il “Rifugio” fu terminato; ogni anno all’ultima domenica del mese di Agosto ricorre l’anniversario dell’inaugurazione.
Durante il corso degli anni sono stati apportati dei sostanziali ampliamenti alla struttura, per supportare le esigenze degli escursionisti ed amanti della montagna.
Il “Rifugio Nasego” diventa infrasettimanalmente un bivacco a disposizione degli escursionisti, mentre la domenica ed i festivi è gestito da un gruppo di volontari chiamato appunto “Amici della Montagna”. Questo gruppo fa in modo che gli appassionati che vi giungono abbiano un’ottima accoglienza e ristoro.
Il rifugio ha dato anche il nome Trofeo Nasego, gara di corsa in montagna di livello mondiale, più volte scelta come gara di campionato Italiano di corsa in montagna.

Located on the Brescia Prealps mountain chain, in the municipality of Casto, at an altitude of 1,270 meters above sea level, the “Rifugio Nasego” takes its name from the mountain it is situated on. A group of friends with a passion for the mountains wanted to create a point of reference for the Savallo area, and so the idea of the refuge was born.
In January 1992, construction work began with the participation of a large group of people who, thanks to their enthusiasm and commitment, gathered regularly for the manual labor. The project was also supported by the municipality of Casto and several local businesses. In August 1994, the refuge was completed, and every year, on the last Sunday of August, the anniversary of its inauguration is celebrated.
Over the years, substantial expansions have been made to the structure to accommodate the needs of hikers and mountain enthusiasts.
The “Rifugio Nasego” functions as a shelter for hikers during the week, while on Sundays and public holidays, it is managed by a group of volunteers called the “Amici della Montagna” (Friends of the Mountain). This group ensures that visitors receive excellent hospitality and refreshments.
The refuge has also lent its name to the Trofeo Nasego, an internationally recognized mountain running competition, which has often been selected as the Italian Mountain Running Championship race.
How to Get There
The refuge can be reached on foot from Comero or the Lodrino Pine Forest.
Rifugio Nasego liegt an der Kette der Brescia-Voralpen im Gebiet der Gemeinde Casto auf einer Höhe von 1270 m ü.d.M. und trägt den Namen des Berges, auf dem es sich befindet. Einige Freunde mit einer Leidenschaft für die Berge wollten einen Orientierungspunkt für das Gebiet des Savallo haben, so entstand die Idee für die Hütte.
Im Januar 1992 begannen die Bauarbeiten mit der Teilnahme einer großen Gruppe von Menschen, die sich mit Begeisterung und Einsatz für die Handwerksarbeiten engagierten. Das Projekt wurde auch mit der Unterstützung der Gemeinde Casto und zahlreicher lokaler Unternehmen realisiert. Im August 1994 war die Rifugio fertiggestellt; jedes Jahr wird am letzten Sonntag im August das Jubiläum der Eröffnung gefeiert.
Im Laufe der Jahre wurden wesentliche Erweiterungen an der Struktur vorgenommen, um den Bedürfnissen der Wanderer und Bergliebhaber gerecht zu werden.
Die Rifugio Nasego ist während der Woche ein Unterschlupf für Wanderer, während sie an Sonntagen und Feiertagen von einer Gruppe von Freiwilligen namens „Amici della Montagna“ betrieben wird. Diese Gruppe sorgt dafür, dass die Besucher, die dort ankommen, eine ausgezeichnete Gastfreundschaft und Erfrischung erleben.
Die Hütte ist auch nach dem Trofeo Nasego benannt, einem weltbekannten Berglauf, der mehrfach als italienische Berglaufmeisterschaft ausgewählt wurde.
